"Given that up until its closure, La Folie Inn on the Old Harbour had been a working public house, albeit run down, will the Minister explain what works, if any, have been undertaken within this listed building and outline -
- whocarried out this work and onwhose authority?
- whether planning permissionwasgiven for this work?
- how much will it cost to reinstate any aborted work andwho will pay for it?
- what the department'splans,ifany, are for this building?
Answer
- No internal works havebeen carried out within La Folie Inn since its closure as a public house. A structural report wascarriedoutby a potential developer in 2005which involved removingsomewall panels and flooring.
- Planning permissionwasnotgiven for this report to be carried out.
- Any repairs required will be madegood as part of the eventualredevelopmentof the site.
- Referring tomyanswer to Deputy Power's written questionof10th March 2009,work is on-going to vacate the entire La Folie site. This willbecompleted this summer when the workshops are relocated to the newlyconvertedformerHarbourWorks building at LaCollette.LaFoliequay is currently being master-plannedby Jersey Harbours,WEBand Property Holdings with the intention ofmaximisingthe value ofthewholesiteformarine leisure in the long term.
