Have your say!

Democracy is about having your say.

During each 4-year political cycle, there are many ways you can express your views on the issues that matter to you in our Island.

You can meet your elected representatives in person at one of the many regular constituency drop-ins.

For details of upcoming drop-ins, see our Talk to your elected States Members page. If you can't see details for the Member you would like to talk to, you can find contact details for all 49 elected States Members on our Members page.

If you're unsure which constituency you live in, our Constituency Finder allows you to enter your postcode and do a quick lookup.

There are several ways you can share your views with Scrutiny Panels and committees.

The research that Scrutiny Panels conduct is essential for Members to understand how the public feel about Government proposals. You can give feedback by:

  • Completing a Scrutiny survey, which you will find listed on current review pages
  • Joining a topical focus group
  • Suggesting questions you would like to hear asked in a Quarterly Hearing
  • Emailing scrutiny@gov.je with your thoughts and opinions

To hear what's being discussed you can attend Public Hearings or watch online

Share your ideas or concerns about what’s happening in our Island.

You can contact the States Members elected to represent residents in your constituency via telephone or email, whether it relates to a Parish, constituency or Island-wide issue. Head to our Members page to find the contact details for all 49 elected States Members. Or you can contact all States Members, using our online form.

You can voice your opinions on current local issues via either an online or paper petition, which could lead to a debate in the States Assembly.

Online petitions are easy to set up and can be easily shared with the community via email or social media. Instructions for setting up a petition along with a list of current live petitions can be found on our Petitions page.
