We are committed to working with schools in the Island to support children and young people's learning about the work of the States Assembly to help build an engaged and informed society.

To complement the Jersey Curriculum, we are proud to offer:

  • Visits to your school/college by States Members
  • Workshops led by our Education Manager
  • Tours of the States Chamber
  • High quality teaching resources
  • Support with school elections
  • Programmes that provide KS 4 - 5 students with the opportunity to debate in the Chamber

We hope to provide all the tools you need to empower your students with the knowledge and skills they need to become active citizens. If there's anything further you need, please do get in touch.

Visits to your school/college (Key Stages 1 - 5)

We offer free presentations, workshops and assemblies to complement the Jersey Curriculum. These interactive sessions can be tailored to any key stage to ensure age-appropriate learning about our Island's democracy.

We are also able to organise for States Members to visit your school/college.

To organise a visit, please contact our Education Manager by emailing getinvolved@gov.je

Support with school elections

Whether you're forming a School Council or a Pupil Parliament, school elections are a brilliant opportunity for students to learn about democracy.

Why not recreate a polling station or invite the States Members from your constituency in to discuss what being an elected representative is all about?

The States Greffe can help you with contacting your nearest polling station or inviting States Members in – contact us by emailing: getinvolved@gov.je

Programmes for Key Stage 4 - 5 students

Throughout the school year, there are opportunities for young people to get involved with programmes, events, and activities which will develop their skills, knowledge, and political awareness.

Visits to the States Chamber for all year groups

We welcome school groups of any age to tour the States Chamber and we will tailor the session to the age and learning objectives of your class. To arrange a visit, email getinvolved@gov.je.

If you're not able to get your students to the Chamber this term, let the Chamber come to the classroom with our virtual tour.
