Voting in Jersey
Have your say!
Would you like your team or organisation to learn more about Jersey's political system and how decisions made by the States Assembly can impact them both personally and professionally?
If so, we would be delighted to offer you a free behind-the-scenes tour of the States Chamber, where Jersey's elected parliament meets to debate and create laws and policies. The tour typically takes around 90 minutes, however the duration can be tailored to your group, with the opportunity to ask questions throughout.
To book or find out more, email the Outreach Manager: statesgreffe@gov.je.
"The tour was both engaging and informative, and something I would recommend to anyone who lives and works in Jersey".

From March to October we offer monthly behind-the-scenes tours of the States Chamber, where the States Assembly meets to debate and create laws, and the Royal Court, the principal Court of Justice.
Tours are two hours long and are delivered by Blue Badge guides, escorted by a Royal Court Usher..
Tours take place on a Saturday morning and are bookable via Eventbrite. There is a small charge to cover weekend running costs.
We regularly organise for States Members to be located at busy community venues, such as supermarkets and St Helier town centre locations, to provide an opportunity for Islanders to share their views, often about a specific topic such as a Scrutiny Review.

States Members are available to speak to on any topic at drop-in sessions, which are organised in every constituency around the Island. You can also use this as an opportunity to speak to a Member who does not represent your constituency but who has responsibility for an issue you care about.
Our annual Democracy Week takes place every September to coincide with the anniversary of the Corn Riots in Jersey.
Now in its fifth year, the week is dedicated to providing Islanders with a wider range of opportunities to learn about and engage with the States Assembly and its Members.
The 2024 event included Jersey's first People's Debate, whereby 34 local residents had the opportunity to come into the States Chamber and take part in a debate on a topical issue.
