The British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly (BIPA) promotes co-operation between political representatives in Britain and Ireland.
The British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body was established in 1990 as a link between the Houses of Parliament and the Houses of the Oireachtas. In 2001 membership was extended to include the Scottish Parliament, the Senedd, the Northern Ireland Assembly, the High Court of Tynwald, the States of Guernsey and the States of Jersey; and the name British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly was adopted.
The States Assembly provides a Jersey Member and an Associate Member of the British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly.
