WQ.105/2025

WRITTEN QUESTION TO THE CHAIR OF THE PRIVILEGES AND PROCEDURES

COMMITTEE

BY DEPUTY M.R. SCOTT OF ST. BRELADE

QUESTION SUBMITTED ON MONDAY 10th MARCH 2025

ANSWER TO BE TABLED ON MONDAY 17th MARCH 2025

Question

"Further to the response to Written Question 156/2022, in relation to the proposed amendment of Standing Orders to require the Chief Minister to disclose the identities of both Ministers and Assistant Ministers before the election of Scrutiny Chairs, will the Chair state the date of the meeting when this matter was discussed and advise whether any proposed changes are to be brought forward?"

Answer

I am afraid that this matter has not been discussed by the main Committee, but falls within the scope of the Machinery of Government Sub-Committee, of which both I and Deputy Scott are Members. I have asked that this particular issue be placed on our next agenda for discussion and apologise that it appears to have slipped off our radar.
