BY DEPUTY M.B. ANDREWS OF ST. HELIER NORTH
QUESTION SUBMITTED ON MONDAY 2nd JUNE 2025
ANSWER TO BE TABLED ON MONDAY 9th JUNE 2025
Question
"Will the Chair –
- advise whether the Chief Executive or any Chief Officers of Government Departments have secondary employment and if so, will he provide the details of such employment; and
- state whether he has been asked to give approval to any such employment and if he has, how many times he has approved or rejected secondary employment requests?"
Answer
- No Chief Officers of Government Departments have secondary employment.
Whilst the Chief Executive does not have secondary employment, as previously confirmed the Chief Executive continues to undertake a non-executive role as Chair of the Board of the Bank of Gibraltar.
- There have been no occasions when I have been asked to approve or reject requests for secondary employment. The Chief Executive's non-executive role was approved by the States Employment Board.
