Additional States Meeting requisitioned

States Assembly

​The States Assembly has been requisitioned, by 17 of its Members, to hold an additional meeting on Monday 1 February. The sole purpose of the meeting will be to consider the Council of Ministers’ proposal of Westmount Road as the preferred access route for the new hospital at Overdale.

To agree Westmount Road as the primary, two-way access route for the new hospital at Overdale

Proposal by the Council of Ministers

That approval of the new access route should be subject to the Government committing to:

  1. Minimise reduction and replace any lost green areas and trees

  2. Relocate and replace any impacted community facilities; and

  3. Replace any lost parking facilities

Amendment by Constable Simon Crowcroft

To delay final approval of the Westmount Road access route until:

  1. A preliminary design of the preferred access route; and

  2. A proposition seeking the Assembly's approval of this design, prior to any work being undertaken

have been presented to the Assembly for debate on 2 March.
