Islanders who want to ensure public money is spent efficiently are encouraged to apply for the role of a non-elected member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Lay members will join the newly elected Chair, Deputy Lyndsay Feltham, and elected States Members, to play a significant role in scrutinising how taxpayers' money is spent.
This part-time voluntary role would best suit senior professionals, including but not limited to IT, finance, HR, regulatory, legal or third sector environments. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate strong teamwork, analytical and communications skills.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the Assistant Greffier of the States, Tim Oldham, by emailing t.oldham@gov.je. To see full job description and to apply, visit Gov.je. The closing date for applications is 1 August 2022 and interviews will be held by 9 August.
Chair of the Public Accounts Committee, Deputy Lyndsay Feltham, said "As the new Chair of the PAC, I welcome Islanders who are passionate about Jersey and how public funds are spent to join the Committee for the next four years. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference and ensure that taxpayers are obtaining best value for money. I particularly want to encourage Islanders from a diverse range of communities and professional backgrounds to join myself and my fellow elected members, who will be appointed by the States Assembly this week."
