New Chairman of Jersey Consumer Council appointed

States Assembly

10 April 2018

Former Deputy Editor of the Jersey Evening Post, Carl Walker, has been appointed as Chairman of the Jersey Consumer Council.

Mr. Walker will be in office for three years from 14 April 2018. The Jersey Consumer Council was originally set up in 1995; and in February 2011, the States adopted a new mandate for the Council which included allowing people who were not States members to take on the position of Chairman.

Mr. Walker takes over from Advocate Rose Colley, who, having held the position for six consecutive years, has come to the end of her maximum two terms of office.
