Next Week's States Meeting

States Assembly

Next week's States Meeting will commence at 10:30am on Tuesday 17 January, following a short service for members at the Parish Church of St. Helier. The entire meeting will be broadcast live via Public-I from the States Chamber.

The Meeting will begin with a proposition to appoint Marcus Troy, Connétable of St. Clement and Richard Honeycombe, Connétable of St. Ouen, to the Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel. Nominations will be invited from the floor and each nomination will need to be seconded. If no other members are nominated by the Assembly, the two Connétables will be appointed as members of Scrutiny Panel.

States Members will then ask Ministers up to two hours and 20 minutes of oral questions, which have been issued to them in advance (i.e. 'with notice'). Details of this week's oral questions with notice can be found on page 5 of the Order Paper. The following Ministers will answer oral questions which they have not been given in advance of the meeting (i.e., 'without notice') for 15 minutes each:

  • Minister for External Relations and Financial Services, Deputy Philip Ozouf
  • Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Karen Wilson
  • Chief Minister, Deputy Kristina Moore

A notification when each debate begins, a summary of the proposal and the results of each debate will be shared on the States Assembly Twitter pages throughout the meeting. A summary of the meeting will be shared at the end of each day on the news section of the States Assembly website.
