Young people invited to apply for the Commonwealth Youth Parliament 2021
6 September 2021
Islanders aged 18-29 years old are being invited to apply to take part in this year's Commonwealth Youth Parliament, which will be held virtually on 18-22 October 2021.
The Commonwealth Youth Parliament is a unique opportunity for young people to learn about how parliamentary bodies work and get the chance to debate legislation, work with other young people from across the Commonwealth, and receive mentorship from current young Members of Parliament.
The Jersey Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Branch is looking to nominate two young people who have an interest in parliamentary affairs and the Commonwealth, and can demonstrate leadership qualities, commitment to their local community, and excellent communication skills.
Those who wish to participate in the event should send a full CV, a scan of their passport page and a covering letter outlining why they believe they are suitable to represent Jersey to Dr Mark Egan, Honorary Secretary at M.Egan@gov.je no later than 5pm on Friday 10 September 2021. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an informal interview during the week commencing 13 September 2021.
