Report
The Island community is faced with the very real possibility of there being no bus service at all during the coming winter. In addition, it seems clear that a revision of the 1935 Law, allowing for extended licences under a Service Level Agreement, will take significant time and resources.
My amendment to the strategy is to allow all sides in the current dispute to retreat with honour from what appear to be entrenched positions, and also to give the Committee a clear timetable for constructive negotiation and action.
I do not believe that the financial implications of the amendment will be any greater than those arising out of the strategy itself. There are no manpower implications.
