REPORT

Further recruitment has identified an additional Employment Tribunal Side Member with relevant experience, who meets the requirements of Regulation  2.

The Commission and the Committee are satisfied that the proposed member has knowledge and experience of trade unions or matters relating to employees generally', and will be an important addition to the pool of members from which 2 may be selected to form a 3-person panel, with the Chair or Deputy , when required.

Mr.   Hall is currently a Joint Head of Internal Audit for the Jersey Electricity Company, an Employees Trustee for the Jersey Electricity Pension Schemes and has acted as Chairman and Secretary of Prospect for approximately 10  years.

Term of appointment

The proposed 2-year term of appointment is proposed as appropriate to Mr. Hall 's personal circumstances, and to allow a wide spread' of terms amongst the 13 proposed members.

Financial/manpower statement

A budget of £113,500 has already been allocated to the Tribunal for 2005. As the Tribunal will be independent, its administration will not require any additional manpower in the Department.
