REPORT
Since 1984, whilst serving in the States of Jersey Police until my retirement in 1998, as a Specialised Crime Prevention Officer, I was part of an Association of Chief Police Officers Project and Design Group, Technical Committee, which specialised in Crime Prevention through Environmental Design, and Secure by Design, etc.
The latest now to come from this Technical Committee are Crime Impact Statements, which now need to be included in the Planning Application process as and when required.
After consultation with the only other current Specialised Officer here in the Island, the new Revised Draft Island Plan dated March 2011 covers the general aspects within this specialised area and this Amendment provides us with the ideal opportunity to incorporate this specific detail.
Financial and manpower implications
There are no financial or manpower implications for the States arising from this amendment.
