REPORT

This  is  a  simple  amendment  which  seeks  to  strengthen  the  main  proposition  by responding to a concern raised by members of the public that should the former Seaside Cafe be gifted to the National Trust for Jersey then it could potentially be sold off for profit in future without the public having any say in the matter.

The amendment would ensure that if the proposition is approved and the purchase goes ahead, then a condition would be included as part of the contract process requiring that the trust return the site to public ownership if it no longer has a use for it. The NTJ has confirmed it would be content with the condition.

Financial and staffing implications

There would not be any expected additions to the financial and staffing implications already included in the main proposition.

Child Rights Impact Assessment

A Child Rights Impact Assessment has been prepared in relation to this proposition and will be accessible for review on the States Assembly website.
