REPORT
Further to the terms of the original Proposition (P.58/2024), it is proposed to appoint an additional member as a Medical Practitioner to the Income Support Medical Appeal Tribunal (the "Tribunal").
In accordance with this Amendment, the Minister recommends the additional appointment of:
Dr Lucy Fleur Baudains
Dr Lucy Fleur Baudains was educated in Jersey. She graduated with a First- class BSc degree in Biomedical Science at The University of Sussex in 2015 before qualifying in Medicine from Lancaster University in 2021. Dr Baudains completed her foundation training at East Surrey Hospital before returning to Jersey in August 2023 to work as a Clinical Fellow doctor at Jersey General Hospital, where she is currently working in the Emergency Department. Dr Baudains is to be appointed as a member of the ISMAT and SSMAT.
The initial term of office is 5 years. An appointed member is then eligible for reappointment for a further 4 years to comply with the Appointment Commission's guidance of a maximum of nine years served.
The Minister is confident that the individual proposed has the skills necessary to uphold the fairness and integrity of the tribunal system.
