MINISTER FOR TREASURY AND RESOURCES
REPORT
The amendment to Amendment of the Draft Finance (2025 Budget) (Jersey) Law 202- (P.72/2024) gives effect to the amendment to Amendment 11 in the Proposed Budget (Government Plan) 2025-2028 (P.51/2024).
The Amendment (P.72/2024) makes changes to Article 25 of the Finance Law in respect of the excise duty for non-commercial vehicles by amending the top three established CO2 mass emission bands to £1,504; £4,830; and £9,921 respectively. There is also a corresponding change to the cylinder capacity of engine bands of £2,338; £4,830; and £9,921. This represents an increase from the 2024 rates by 10%, 15% and 25%.
The amendment to Amendment makes a change to the 151-175 g and the corresponding 2501- 3000 cm3 band in so far that the increase of 10% is reduced to 5%. This reverts the rate to £1,435 and £2,231 in the CO2 mass emission bands and cylinder capacity of engine bands respectively.
