The Finance and Economics Committee notes that the main direct costs of the proposition relate to the proposal to set up an Electoral Commission. It is anticipated that funds may be required from the General Reserve to meet these costs, which have not yet been determined, but it is understood that the Policy and Resources Committee will, if the States adopt this proposition, be returning to the States with more details and costs of the proposals.
