The Finance and Economics Committee considers that the report and proposition, if approved by the States, will require funds to meet the cost of holding public and interest group consultation meetings and the publication of discussion documents. The States have agreed an overall cash limit for 2003 and it is suggested that the Planning and Environment Committee should bid for funds for that year and beyond, at which time the bids of all Committees can be prioritised.

The Finance and Economics Committee is disappointed that the Planning and Environment Committee has not been able to provide for the States estimates of the costs involved.
