STATES MEMBERS' REMUNERATION: ESTABLISHMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT REVIEW BODY (P.146/2003) – COMMENTS

Presented to the States on 25th November 2003 by the Finance and Economics Committee

COMMENTS

The Finance and Economics Committee supports this Report and Proposition in principle.

However, the timings of the review body recommendations (listed in paragraph (b)) do not fit comfortably within the budgeting nor Fundamental Spending Review processes. In this regard, the Finance and Economics Committee will request that the recommendations of the Review Body, should they contain either savings or growth requirements, are brought forward in order that they may be considered within those processes.
