BUS STRATEGY: IMPLEMENTATION (P.187/2003) – COMMENTS
Presented to the States on 20th January 2004 by the Finance and Economics Committee

COMMENTS
The Finance and Economics Committee recognises that the cost of the Bus Strategy in 2004 is now estimated to be approximately £2.4 million;£460,000 of this amount is provided for in the cash limit of the Environment and Public Services Committee. The shortfall in funding for 2004 and beyond has not yet been secured, however the Environment and Public Services Committee has requested growth funding for this purpose in the 2005 Fundamental Spending Review.
In the event that growth funding should not be made available through the Fundamental Spending Review then the Environment and Public Services Committee would either have to reprioritise its existing cash limit, seek approval for other methods of funding the Bus Strategy or reduce the expenditure pertaining to the Bus Strategy.
