COMMENTS The Policy and Resources Committee supports this proposition.
The responsibilities of the Policy and Resources Committee for international relations will be transferred to the Chief Minister in the ministerial system of government, in accordance with the States' decisions on P.70/2002 ("Machinery of Government: Proposed Departmental Structure and Transitional Arrangements") and P.191/2002 ("Machinery of Government: Structure of the Executive"). In the meantime, the Committee will be reviewing at an early stage the matter of how best to maintain and develop relations between Jersey and France, both during the transitional period leading up to the ministerial system and once the ministerial system has come into effect. This review will be carried out in full consultation with States members and others, and the Committee will report back to the States by the end of the year.
