COMMENTS
The Policy and Resources Committee supports the conclusions of the Privileges and Procedures Committee in relation to call-in', as set out in section 25 of theMachinery of Government: Establishment of Scrutiny Panels and Public Accounts Committee' (P.79/2003), and it therefore opposes the amendments of Senator S. Syvret.
The Committee also supports the recommendation of the Privileges and Procedures Committee that the issue of call-in' should be reviewed no later than 12 months after the establishment of the scrutiny panels. This review will be carried out by the proposed Chairmen's Committee, which will be able to make its assessment in the light of the experiences gained during the first 12 months of the operation of the scrutiny panels.
