STATES MEMBERS' REMUNERATION: INCREASES FOR 2004 – RESCINDMENT (P.11/2004) – COMMENTS
Presented to the States on 13th April 2004 by the Finance and Economics Committee
STATES GREFFE
COMMENTS
The Finance and Economics Committee considers that if the report and proposition, or the amendment of Senator Shenton, is approved, it will demonstrate the commitment of States Members to showing leadership in the battle for restraint in its determination to control inflation by accepting increases to pay awards which are less than the target rate of inflation.
The Committee wishes Members to note that should this report and proposition or either amendment be approved, a retrospective adjustment will have to be made to the payments already provided to Members.
