DELEGATION OF FUNCTIONS BY MINISTERS: REVIEW OF REPORTING PROCEDURES (P.65/2010) – COMMENTS

Presented to the States on 21st June 2010 by the Council of Ministers

2010   Price code: A  P.65 Com.

COMMENTS

The Council of Ministers believes that the present system of reporting delegations of functions by Ministers is not only fit for purpose but is in accordance with a review carried out by the Privileges and Procedures Committee in 2008.

Nonetheless the Council of Ministers is prepared to accede to a request to review the system and report back within 3 months, in case there have been any developments since 2008 which might mean that there would be any tangible benefit in a new or clearer system.
