PAGE 180, After Article 76 insert new Articles 77 and 78: Review of Law's implementation and involved of disabled people
The Minister for Health and Social Services accepts Amendment 8 as proposed by the Assisted Dying Review Panel noting that the new Article 77, as inserted, provides that the Committee must undertake a review of how the law is operating with 3 years of the Assisted Dying Service commencing operation.
The Minister further accepts the proposed new Article 78 which requires the Committee to consult disable people in matters related to:
- the establishment of the Assisted Dying Service (Article 57 (1))
- the supervision of the Service (Article 57 (1))
- the Committees other functions and obligations under the law (Article 57 (1))
- the carrying out and publication of the 3-year review (new Article 77 as inserted).
