1240/12 (10) The Committee recalled that a matter of privilege had been raised by the Chairman

on 3rd February 2009 following the publication in the Jersey Evening Post and by Senator S. Syvret of certain details of an in camera debate that had been held on 21st January 2009. The Committee recalled that it had discussed the matter with the Bailiff as President of the States at its meeting of 27th February 2009, and had researched the position in other jurisdictions.

The Committee considered a draft Report in relation to its findings, which also detailed the advice received from other jurisdictions as an Appendix. The Committee accordingly approved the Report and requested that it be presented to the States at the earliest opportunity.

The Greffier of the States was directed to take the necessary action.
