The Committee noted that the Chief Minister intended to make a statement to the Assembly regarding the legal proceedings which had been commenced by Mr. Syvret against parties to include the States of Jersey and the Chief Minister. The Chairman advised the Committee that she had attended a meeting with the Chief Minister in respect of the matter and would be apprised of any developments. While the States of Jersey had been named as a party in the proceedings, the Committee considered that, in accordance with Standing Order 128, it was not its role to represent the States of Jersey. It was considered that the Committee's role under the aforementioned Standing Order could be reviewed at a future date. It was noted that the  Chief  Minister  would  instruct  the  Solicitor  General  in  respect  of  the proceedings.
