Written A1. The Committee received the draft answer of the Chairman to a written question: question from Senator P.F. Routier in connexion with access to the States Building Access to the for the purpose of holding meetings.
States
Building. The Committee, with reference to its Minute No. A2 of 8th May 2014, recalled 1240/9/1(137) that the Jersey Human Rights Group held its meetings in the States Building and
that members' prayer breakfasts, which were supported by Business Connect, were also held in the States Building. The Chairman's draft answer advised that he would write to both parties to remind them of the Conditions of Use as outlined in R.112/2007 "States Members' Facilities in the States Building: Conditions of Use", and to invite them to apply to the Committee should they wish to continue to use the States Building as a venue for their meetings. The Committee received draft correspondence to Deputy M. Tadier and Senator P.F. Routier M.B.E. in this regard. It was noted that the Chairman had committed in his draft answer to send a reminder to all States members that the use of facilities in the States Building for electoral purposes was not permitted. It was also noted that rooms in the States Building were occasionally used by the administrators of the Lord Portsea Gift Fund and the Greville Bathe Fund and for citizenship ceremonies when there were no rooms available in the Royal Court Building.
The Committee, having considered the draft answer, requested that it be tabled before the States forthwith. The Committee also approved the draft correspondence to be sent to Deputy Tadier and Senator Routier regarding the use of the States Building. The Committee Clerk was requested to take the necessary action.

Committee noted the draft response of the Chairman, which advised that the Committee was currently undertaking a review of the Referendum (Jersey) Law 2002, and was not yet at the stage of requesting law drafting in respect of any proposed amendments to the legislation.
The Committee, having noted the content of the Chairman's response, accordingly requested that the answer be tabled before the States forthwith. The Committee Clerk was requested to take the necessary action.
