THE STATES, adopting a proposition of Senator Sir Philip Martin Bailhache , agreed to request the Minister  for  Treasury  and  Resources  to  identify  the  appropriate  means  of  funding  a  grant  of £3.575 million to the National Trust for Jersey in order that the site known as the Plémont Holiday Village and adjoining land as identified on the drawing attached as Appendix 1 to the Report could be acquired for the benefit of the Island, subject to a condition that the National Trust for Jersey would thereafter demolish the former holiday camp and restore the coastal landscape to a natural state.

In accordance with the provisions of Standing Order 106(1)(c), Senators Paul Francis Routier, Sarah Craig Ferguson, Ian Joseph Gorst and Sir Philip Martin Bailhache , Deputy Roy George Le Hérissier of St. Saviour , the Deputy of Grouville and Deputy Sean Seamus Patrick Augustine Power of St. Brelade declared an interest as members of the National Trust for Jersey, but remained in the Chamber for the duration of the debate. The Connétable s of St. Saviour and Grouville , in accordance with the provisions of Standing Order 106(1)(c), declared an interest as tenants of National Trust for Jersey land, but remained in the Chamber for the duration of the debate.

THE STATES, having been informed that the relevant scrutiny panel had indicated that it did not wish to scrutinise the draft legislation, commenced consideration of Regulations 1 to 37 and adopted an amendment of the Comité des Connétable s, that after Regulation 13 there should be inserted the following Regulation and the remaining Regulations renumbered accordingly –

"14 Honorary Police (Jersey) Regulations 2005

In Regulation 4A(2)(b) of the Honorary Police (Jersey) Regulations 2005 the words (other than the office of Connétable )' shall be deleted.".

THE STATES, adopting an amendment of the Comité des Connétable s, agreed that in Regulation 37 (renumbered as Regulation 38), in paragraph (2) for the words "Regulation 28(g) to (l)" in each place they appeared there should be substituted the words "Regulation 29(g) to (l)".
