Elected A1. The Committee, with reference to its Minute No. B1 of 27th March 2018, Speaker: recalled that, subject to some minor amendments, it had agreed that it wished to Referendum proceed to lodging au Greffe' the draft Referendum (Presidency of States Act. Assembly) (Jersey) Act 201- (the draft Act'), which provided for a referendum to 1417/99(1) be held on Saturday 20th October 2018 on whether the Bailiff , as President of the
States Assembly, should be replaced by a Speaker elected by States members.
The Committee received and approved the updated draft Act, together with an accompanying report, prepared by the Assistant Greffier, which provided detail on the various Articles contained therein. It requested the Assistant Greffier to arrange for the draft Act to be lodged au Greffe' for consideration by the newly constituted States Assembly in due course. The Committee also approved the report, prepared by the Referendum Commission and agreed that it should be presented to the States on the day preceding the lodging of the draft Act.
The Committee instructed the Assistant Greffier to take the necessary action.
