Note: The Minutes of this meeting comprise Part A only.

St. Helier A1. The Committee recalled that a By-Election to fill the vacancy left by the late by-election Deputy R.J. Rondel of St. Helier was due to take place in St. Helier district 3/4 on 27th 2019: filming February 2019. A total of 10 candidates had been nominated and they had been asked of Hustings. to indicate how many Hustings they wished to have organised.

465/7(12)

The Deputy Greffier notified the Committee that whilst there were normally 2 Hustings for that district, the candidates had opted to hold a minimum of 3 Hustings, on 6th February 2019 at First Tower School; 12th February 2019 at Centre Point Nursery, the former La Pouquelaye School; and on 21st February at the Town Hall . It was also mooted that a fourth might be held at Rouge Bouillon School. The cost of filming each Hustings for the video to then be uploaded onto the vote.je website would be £600 and the cost of the sound system ranged from £750 to £1,300 per event. The cost of filming all Hustings could, therefore, be in the region of £6,000.

Having noted the foregoing, the Committee decided that only the first Hustings, to be held at First Tower School, should be filmed and instructed the Deputy Greffier to make the necessary arrangements.
