All members were present, with the exception of Deputy C.S. Alves of St. Helier and Deputy J.H. Perchard of St. Saviour , from whom apologies had been received.

K.L. Slack, Clerk to the Privileges and Procedures Committee Note:  The Minutes of this meeting comprise Part A only.

Greffier of the  A1.  The Committee, with reference to its Minute No. A1 of 12th June 2019, recalled States –  that it had decided to lodge a Proposition (P.60/2019) to extend the contract for the extension of  Greffier of the States, Dr. M. Egan, from the date of its expiry on 6th December 2020, contract.  for a further 4 years, such that it would run until December 2024.

The Committee received a  revised  Proposition, which  mooted that the  Greffier's contract should be extended for an additional 5 years from 6th December 2020, so that it would expire in December 2025.

The Committee approved the revised Proposition and requested the Committee Clerk to arrange for P.60/2019 to be withdrawn and for the revised Proposition to be lodged au Greffe' for debate by the States Assembly on 10th September 2019.

Deputy  J.M.  Maçon  of  St.  Saviour  requested  that  his  dissent  be  recorded,  but emphasised that his decision did not reflect on the individual concerned.
