THE STATES resumed consideration of the proposition of Deputy Robert James Ward of St. Helier entitled Bus services: proposals to make free of charge' (P.52/2019), as amended, and, adopting a proposition of the Connétable of Grouville , agreed, in accordance with the provisions of Standing Order 84, that the debate on the principles be put to the vote.

THE STATES rejected paragraph (a) of the proposition of Deputy Robert James Ward of St. Helier , as amended, to request the Minister for Infrastructure to ensure that school bus services could be used free of charge by school students from the start of term in May 2020, without detriment to the general bus service, by investigating, consulting upon and implementing a range of income-raising measures which provided sufficient funding for a range of sustainable transport initiatives and incentives, with particular reference to the school run', in conjunction with the introduction of free school buses.
