a Proposition, entitled Period of Questions Without Notice to the Chief Minister at every scheduled sitting' (P.76/2020 referred), and the Committee had previously queried its interpretation. The Committee noted that debate of P.76/2020 would be deferred from 14th July 2020 until September 2020, however, as the current rules (which had been put in place as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic) would expire in September 2020, there was a possibility that P.76/2020 would not be debated.
On a related matter, the Committee also considered its intention to consult States Members on a trial change from a 2-week cycle to a 3-week cycle of Assembly meetings in 2021. It noted that broader changes to questions without notice would need to be considered in that context. Formal decisions to schedule the 2021 dates would be required by the end of September 2020 and the Committee would return to consider suitable changes to questions without notice at that time.
