THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of Deputy Montfort Tadier of St. Brelade entitled Jersey and the slave trade' (P.78/2020) and rejected paragraph (a) of an amendment of Deputy Jessica Harriet Perchard of St. Saviour (P.78/2020 Amd.) that, in paragraph (a), for the words "as Benin Square" there should be substituted the words "to a name put forward by Black Lives Matter Jersey, which may wish to consult the wider community and other stakeholders, within 60 days of the adoption of this proposition".
