THE STATES resumed consideration of the  proposition of Deputy Montfort Tadier of St. Brelade entitled  Senators  and  Deputies: removal of citizenship requirement' (P.75/2020), as  amended, and rejected paragraph (a) of the proposition that the requirement that Senators, Connétable s and Deputies must be British citizens should be replaced by a requirement that they must be British or Irish citizens, or qualifying citizens of a Commonwealth or European Union country.

Mobile Speed Cameras P.91/2020

THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of the Connétable of St. John entitled Mobile Speed Cameras' (P.91/2020) and, adopting an amendment of the Connétable of St. John (P.91/2020 Amd.), agreed that –

for the words "Home Affairs" there should be substituted the word "Infrastructure";

after the words "Honorary Police to use" there should be inserted the word "unattended"; and

after paragraph (a) there should be inserted the following new paragraph and the subsequent paragraph should be re-designated accordingly –

"(b) permit the data recorded by such cameras to be admissible as evidence in any criminal

case;".

THE STATES rejected a proposition of the Connétable of St. Brelade that, in accordance with Standing Order 83(1)(a) the matter should be referred back to the Connétable of St. John in order that further information relating to the proposition could be provided to the Assembly.
