"Will the Minister update the Assembly on the latest situation regarding young Islanders at universities in the U.K. (and other parts of the world) and the support for those Islanders which the Government is putting in place, given the ongoing impact of the Covid19 pandemic?"

THE STATES noted that the Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture had informed the Greffier, in accordance with Standing Order 30(2), that the Draft Shops (Regulation of Opening) (Amendment – General Practitioner Surgeries and Pharmacies) (Jersey) Regulations 202- would be deferred from the present meeting to the meeting of 20th October 2020.

THE STATES, adopting a proposition of Deputy Inna Gardiner , in accordance with Standing Order 80, agreed to suspend Standing Order 32 in order that her proposition entitled Incoming passengers from Green category jurisdictions: requirement to self-isolate' (P.122/2020), as well as the amendment to that proposition of the Minister for Health and Social Services (P.122/2020 Amd.), might be listed for consideration at the present meeting; and further agreed in accordance with Standing Order 26(7), to reduce the minimum lodging period in respect of the proposition and the amendment in order that they might all be debated at the present meeting.

Drinks Promotions P.105/2020

THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of Deputy Lindsay Barry Edward Ash of St. Clement entitled Drinks Promotions' (P.105/2020) and, adopting paragraph (a), agreed that, in light of the effects of the Covid-19 crisis on the hospitality industry, bars, pubs and restaurants should be permitted to offer and advertise promotions on drinks for a limited period until 31st December 2021, and that the Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture should take the necessary steps to ensure the Licensing Assembly was informed of the States Assembly's decision, and to request that the Licensing Assembly take that decision into immediate consideration.

THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of Deputy Montfort Tadier of St. Brelade entitled Bus Service: revised ticket and fares policy' (P.107/2020) and, adopting paragraph (a), requested the Minister for Infrastructure to take the steps necessary with LibertyBus in relation to the bus service to ensure that, from 1st January 2021, passengers might purchase a transfer ticket at the same price as a single ticket.
