Meeting 6: 20 May 2021

Members present: Senator Tracey Vallois (Chair), Senator Sam Mézec and Connétable John Le Bailly and Deputy Kirsten Morel of St. Lawrence

Apologies were received from Senator Ian Gorst and Connétable Richard Buchanan

  1. Minutes

The Sub-Committee noted and approved the minutes of its meeting held on 6th May 2021.

  1. Meetings with Stakeholders

The Sub-Committee noted that the following meetings had taken place with stakeholders:

The following meetings were due to be held:

Director General (Chief Operating Office) - 27th May at 2pm  

Interim Chief Executive Officer and Director General for Community and Constitutional Affairs - 3rd June 2021 at 10:30am

The Sub-Committee noted that letters had been sent to all Director Generals in order to gather their views on governance and accountability. They had also been invited to attend individual meetings with the Sub-Committee in confidence. The Sub-Committee was disappointed with the lack of response so far and agreed to raise this issue with the Interim CEO.

The Sub-Committee requested that all Group Directors were contacted for their views. In that regard, the Sub-Committee also requested a meeting with Mark Grimley, Group Director for People and Corporate Services to discuss the States Employment Board.

  1. Submissions report

The Sub-Committee received a submissions report which provided a summary of the responses received to date and a list of suggested changes proposed by stakeholders.

  1. Future Meetings

The Sub-Committee agreed that its next meeting would be held on 27th May at 2pm with the Director General, Chief Operating Office.
