Minutes. A1. The Minutes of the meetings held by the Committee on 18th October 2012 (Part
A and Part B) and 20th October 2021 (Part A) having previously been circulated, were approved.
Forthcoming A2. The Committee, with reference to Minute No. A2 of its meeting of 18th October business for 2021, considered forthcoming business for debate by the Assembly at its meetings on debate by the 23rd November 2021 and 14th December 2021. The Committee decided that it did not Assembly. wish to make a formal comment on any of the propositions which had been lodged au
Greffe' for debate on those days.
Update on the A3. The Committee, with reference to Minute No. A3 of its meeting of 18th October work of the 2021, received and considered a paper by the Principal Committee and Panel Officer Sub- regarding an update on the work of the Sub-Committees. The Committee noted the Committees. following updates:
Election Observers Sub-Committee – the Deputy Greffier of the States advised that an advert inviting members of the public to express an interest in joining the Jersey Electoral Authority (JEA) had been published on the States Assembly and Vote.je websites. It was noted that up to 4 members of the public, one of whom would be the Chair of the JEA, were being sought. The Deputy Greffier advised that a number of individuals had already contacted the States Greffe to express an interest in the role.
Political Awareness Education Sub-Committee – the Deputy Greffier of the States advised that a key focus for the Sub-Committee was on encouraging young people to vote in the next general election in June 2022. A number of ideas were being considered including whether to dedicate one pre-poll day to young people in order to encourage them to vote. This could include transport being provided from Highlands College to the pre-poll station.

States Members' Pensions Sub-Committee – the Committee noted that there were no new updates.
Diversity Forum Sub-Committee – the Sub-Committee was due to meet on 30th November 2021.
Democratic Accountability and Governance Sub-Committee – the Sub-Committee last met on 17th November 2021 and had discussed the main findings and recommendations of its review. The Chair of the Sub-Committee, Senator T.A. Vallois, was due to meet with a number of stakeholders to critique the suggestions being put forward. It was anticipated that, once consultation on the recommendations had been completed, the Sub-Committee would submit its final report to the Committee.
Meeting dates A4. The Committee received a draft schedule of meetings for 2022. The Committee for 2022. noted that the meetings had been scheduled for a Monday in each calendar month and
would be held in Le Capelain room in the States Building. The Committee provisionally approved the schedule, but requested that the Principal Committee and Panel Officer ensured that the meetings would not conflict with meetings of the Public Accounts Committee and the Comité des Connétable s.
