The Committee, with reference to Minute No. B2 of 22nd March 2021, received Legislation and considered a draft Legislation (Commencement of Law) (Jersey) Act 202- (Commenceme following the Assembly's approval of the Legislation (Jersey) Law 2021 (the Law'). nt of Law) The Committee noted that the Act would bring the Law into force on 28th September (Jersey) Act 2021.

for lodging The Committee recalled that the main purpose of the Law was to enable the Jersey Law
website to match leading jurisdictions in displaying all legislation in force in a form that enabled its citation in court as the official version.
The Committee was advised that the reason for commencing the Law by Act rather than following its registration was to allow time for work to be undertaken to ensure the official versions of current legislation would be displayed on the Jersey Law website from an agreed date.
The Committee approved the draft Act and instructed the Principal Committee and Panel Officer to make the necessary arrangements for it to be lodged au Greffe' for debate by the States Assembly on 14th September 2021.
