Standing Order 55A – remote participation
THE STATES, with reference to their Act dated 14th September 2021, in which they had agreed that, notwithstanding Standing Order 55A(1), members who did not wish to attend in the States Chamber might continue to take part in States meetings using Microsoft Teams (until the States had considered and voted upon a proposition to re-apply Standing Order 55A(1) or to repeal or vary the terms of the Standing Order), assembled in accordance with Standing Order 55A with members able to participate remotely using Microsoft Teams.

THE STATES, adopting a proposition of Deputy Louise Mary Catherine Doublet of St. Saviour , agreed that, notwithstanding the existing convention in respect of States members' clothing, male States members should be permitted to remove their jackets whilst in the States Chamber during the meeting in light of the extremely high temperature in the Chamber.

THE STATES, in accordance with Standing Order 117, appointed Ministers as follows. Minister for Treasury and Resources
Deputy Ian Joseph Gorst of St. Mary , St. Ouen and St. Peter was nominated by the Chief Minister designate.
In accordance with Standing Order 117(5), the candidate made a speech and was questioned. Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Deputy Bailiff declared that Deputy Ian Joseph Gorst of St. Mary , St. Ouen and St. Peter had been duly elected as Minister for Treasury and Resources.
Minister for Children and Education
Deputy Inna Gardiner of St. Helier North was nominated by the Chief Minister designate.

Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Deputy Bailiff declared that Deputy Inna Gardiner of St. Helier North had been duly elected as Minister for Children and Education.

Deputy Kirsten Francis Morel of St. John , St. Lawrence and Trinity was nominated by the Chief Minister designate.

Minister for External Relation and Financial Services
Deputy Philip Francis Cyril Ozouf of St. Saviour was nominated by the Chief Minister designate.

Once the period of questions had concluded, there being no other nominations, the Deputy Bailiff declared that Deputy Philip Francis Cyril Ozouf of St. Saviour had been duly elected as Minister for External Relation and Financial Services.
