THE STATES, with reference to their Act dated 14th September 2021, in which they had agreed that, notwithstanding Standing Order 55A(1), members who did not wish to attend in the States Chamber might continue to take part in States meetings using Microsoft Teams (until the States had considered and voted upon a proposition to re-apply Standing Order 55A(1) or to repeal or vary the terms of the Standing Order), assembled in accordance with Standing Order 55A with members able to participate remotely using Microsoft Teams. Fully funding education or training for all 16-18 year olds P.38/2024

THE STATES resumed consideration of a proposition of Deputy Inna Gardiner of St. Helier North entitled Fully funding education or training for all 16-18 year olds' (P.38/2024) and rejected paragraph (a) that all 16 to 18-year-olds should be eligible for fully funded education or professional training in Jersey and that the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning be requested to implement any necessary changes to the existing provision prior to September 2025.

Draft Taxation (Common Reporting Standard and United States of America) (Jersey) Amendment Regulations 202- P.39/2024

THE STATES commenced consideration of the Draft Taxation (Common Reporting Standard and United States of America) (Jersey) Amendment Regulations 202- and adopted the principles.

THE STATES, having been informed that the relevant Scrutiny Panel had indicated that it did not wish to scrutinise the draft legislation, adopted Regulations 1 to 3.

THE STATES made Regulations entitled the Taxation (Common Reporting Standard and United States of America) (Jersey) Amendment Regulations 2024 under Article 2 of the Taxation (Implementation) (Jersey) Law 2004.

New Healthcare Facilities Programme P.43/2024

THE STATES commenced consideration of a proposition of the Hospital Review Panel entitled New Healthcare Facilities Programme' (P.43/2024), and rejected paragraph (a) to request the Council of Ministers to bring forward a standalone proposition seeking the States Assembly's approval of the funding proposals for delivery of Phase 1 in respect of the New Healthcare Facilities Programme in order that the funding proposals might be debated before the Draft Government Plan 2025-2028.

Children, Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel – appointment of member

In accordance with Standing Order 125(7) the Chair of the Children, Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel indicated that she wished to increase the size of the Panel to 4 members, including the Chair, and nominated Deputy Helen Mary Miles of St. Brelade as a member of the Panel.

There being no other nominations, the Presiding Officer declared that Deputy Helen Mary Miles of St. Brelade had been duly appointed as a member of the Children, Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel.
