The purpose of this Order is to prohibit dealings in Gammahydroxybutyrate by designating it as a Class C controlled drug, offences in connection with which are to be punished in accordance with the scale prescribed in the 4th Schedule to the Misuse of Drugs (Jersey) Law 1978 as amended.

The Order was made on 13th June 2002 and came into force forthwith. R & O 55/2002

The purpose of this Order is to prohibit dealings in Gammahydroxybutyrate by designating it as a controlled drug which it is unlawful to produce, possess or supply on the Island.

The purpose of this Order is -

( a) to introduce further controls on benzodiazepines and other drugs currently included in Part I of the 4th

Schedule of the Misuse of Drugs (General Provisions) (Jersey) Order 1989 to provide that their importation and exportation is not excepted from control through licensing, and that their unauthorised possession is a criminal offence;

  (b ) to enable the Medical Officer of Health to authorise practitioners to issue pre-printed or computer-generated

prescription forms for controlled drugs, for example in cases where they are being prescribed for clients of the Alcohol and Drugs Service who are being treated for substance abuse, whilst at the same time preserving the requirements for the forms to be printed indelibly and signed by the practitioner personally; and

  (c ) to provide that Gammahydroxybutyrate is included in the list of substances subject to the additional controls

required of controlled drugs.

The Order was made on 13th June 2002 and came into force forthwith.
