R&O 128/2003
This Order gives effect, in Jersey, to Council Regulation (EC) No. 1727/2003 of 29 September 2003 concerning restrictive measures in respect of the Democratic Republic of Congo (the "DRC"). The Regulation prohibits –
- th e provision of financial assistance for the sale, supply, transfer orexportofarms and related materialto any person intheDRC;
- th e provision oftechnical advice, assistance or training related to military activities, to any person in the DRC;and
- th e intentional participation in activities which promote the transactions described in (a) and (b).
The Order makes it an offence to contravene the prohibitions and confers powers on the Policy and Resources Committee to obtain information in order to ensure compliance.
The Order was made on 20th November 2003, and came into force on the day after it was made. R&O 129/2003
This Order amends an existing Order so as to substitute the list of officials of Burma/Myanmar whose funds are frozen, update the details of the competent authorities of the Netherlands, United Kingdom and the European Community and introduce a prohibition on the provision of arms related technical assistance to Burma/Myanmar.
The Order was made on 20th November 2003, and came into force on the day after it was made. R&O 130/2003
This Order replaces the Lodging Houses (General Provisions) (Amendment No. 9) (Jersey) Order 2003, which provided for the fee payable for registration of a lodging house to be £10.50 per lodger with effect from 1st January 2004, and provides instead for the fee to be £10.40 per lodger from that date.
The Order was made on 21st November 2003. Article 2(2) comes into force forthwith and the remainder of the Order comes into force on 1st January 2004.
