This Order amends the Financial Services (General Insurance Mediation Business (Registration and Fees)) (Jersey) Order 2005 by prescribing new annual fees, on a sliding scale according to annual brokerage income in Jersey, for persons carrying on the business of general insurance mediation. The fees were originally £3,000, £1,500, £1,000, £30 and £30 for registration in licence categories P, Q, R, S and T respectively. The fees in this order shall be a maximum of £5,000, £2,500, £1,250 for categories P, Q and R respectively, while for licence categories S and T the fee remains unchanged.
The Order was made on 20th October 2005, and comes into force 7 days after it was made. R&O 124/2005
The effect of this Order is to widen the range of police officers from another British Island police force who may act as presiding officer of a disciplinary hearing under, and in accordance with, the Police Complaints and Discipline Procedure) (Jersey) Order 2000.
Article 27 of that Order provides for the presiding officer of a disciplinary hearing (who is the Chief Officer of the States of Jersey Police) to remit the function of presiding officer to a chief officer of another British Islands police force in certain circumstances. This amendment will allow the remission to be to a police officer of another British Islands police force who is of at least the rank of assistant chief constable or an equivalent rank in any of those police forces.
