Explanatory Note
R&O.36/2007.
This Order establishes a Management Board to oversee the superannuation schemes established or to be established for teachers, and sets out the manner in which the members of the Board and its Chairman are to be appointed.
The Board shall have 6 employer and 6 employee representatives, appointed by the Chief Minister.
Two of the employer representatives shall be persons recommended by the Minister for Treasury and Resources, 2 shall be persons recommended by the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, and 2 shall be the persons that the Chief Minister thinks fit.
The employee members shall be persons determined in a manner agreed between the Minister for Education, Sport and Culture and associations representing the interests of teachers.
Members of the Board shall hold office for 3 years.
The Board shall also have a Chairman, who shall be appointed by the Chief Minister. The Chairman shall be appointed for a period determined by the other members of the Board and may be removed from office in accordance with a method agreed to by them.
The Order shall come into force the day after it is made. The Order was made on 26th February 2007.
