This Order increases by about 3.7% the capital and income amounts to be disregarded in assessing income for income support purposes.

The Order was made on 22nd September 2008 and came into force on 1st October 2008.

This Order increases the fee for the registration of a lodging house by 2.5%.

The Order was made on 24th September 2008 and comes into force on 1st December 2008.

This Order increases the basic dispensing fee for each item of pharmaceutical benefit supplied on a prescription from £2.85 to £2.96. The increase takes effect from 1st October 2008.

This Order increases the fee for the compulsory basic training course for motor bicycles from £85 to £102. The last increase in this fee was on 4th April 2007.

This Order amends the transitional scheme for income support to extend the periods over which protected payments will be phased out, with all protected payments ceasing by 1st October 2014. The extension is in general by one year, but by 2 years for households formerly receiving attendance allowance, disabled adult's allowance or disabled child's allowance.

The power to make amendments to the Inquests and Post-mortem Examinations (Jersey) Rules 1995, and the fees prescribed therein, vests in the Superior Number of the Royal Court.

The fees under the 1995 Rules were last reviewed in 2006 resulting in an increase in rates payable from 1st October 2006. The increases made then took into account inflation up to December 2005. In the years to March  2008,  the  Jersey  Retail   Price  Index  rose  by  9.35%.  The  Inquests  and  Post-Mortem  Examinations (Amendment No.  6) Rules 2008 provide for increases in the fees in line with that level of inflation.

This Order increases to £76 the annual registration fee for restaurants, snack-bars and other places of refreshment.

This Order amends the Schedule to the Veterinary Surgeons (Jersey) Law 1999, to enable the States Veterinary Officer to approve suitable people who are not veterinary surgeons to carry out procedures for transferring embryos between cattle.

This Order would increase, with effect from 1st January 2009, the earnings limit above which a person's monthly earnings are disregarded in calculating Class  1 contributions under the Social Security (Jersey) Law 1974.

The increase would be from £3,394 to £3,540, or 4.3% from one year to the next.
