" W ill H.M. Attorney General inform the Assembly of the criteria used to judge whether or not to pursue cases in relation to so-called historic' child abuse, and where the likelihood of conviction' principle plays a part, roughly what percentage of certainty is usually required?"

  1. The Deputy ofSt.Mary will ask the followingquestionof the Chief Minister –

"Given that the Chief Minister at the last sitting told the Assembly that the figure of 100,000 as the maximum for the island's population arose "from consultation" and that the consultation he was referring to was Imagine Jersey 2035, can he refer members to where in reports of Imagine Jersey 2035 consultation findings this figure can be found, and if not, can he explain to members which consultation this was?"

  1. The Deputy ofSt. Martin will ask the followingquestionof the Minister for Health and Social Services –

" G i v en that a senior Health employee has been suspended for over years, what cost has been incurred to cover the suspension and as the employee was not called to give evidence in the related criminal trial how can the suspension be justified when employees more closely involved with the incident are not suspended and neither are their actions subject of the review being undertaken by Verita?"

  1. Senator S.C. Ferguson  will ask the following question of  the Minister for Transport and Technical Services

" W o uld the Minister confirm whether the abattoir is operated in accordance with

DEFRA/EU rules and, if so, state what the extra cost of doing so is and inform members whether he has investigated running the abattoir on sound commonsense' rules rather than DEFRA/EU rules and, if not, why not?"

" G i v en that in the former Minister's statement on 3rd February 2009, he stated that the Verita inquiry would be independent, transparent, rigorous' and there would be no boundaries', would the Minister therefore advise why the terms of reference for the inquiry are so narrow, only looking at investigating Policy, Procedures and Conduct and are the terms of reference flawed given the description of a locum consultant as a registrar?"

" G i v en its proximity to Patriotic Street car park, will the Minister explain why the Newgate Street entrance to the General Hospital closes before the end of visiting time and will the Minister also advise whether any changes to short stay parking near the hospital have been considered which would facilitate the collection of patients on their discharge, especially when they cannot walk unaccompanied, for example following sedation?"

  1. Senator S.Syvret will ask the following question ofthe Minister for Home Affairs – "Would the Minister clarify for theAssemblyhow an offence allegedly breaching Article

39A of the Public Elections (Jersey) Law 2002, as amended, committed by an independent candidate came to be initially treated as a charge against Deputy Southern ?"

" A l th ough the abattoir is operated by the Transport and Technical Services Department its advantages are more related to the Economic Development Department; would the Minister therefore undertake to work with the Minister for Transport and Technical Services to support and encourage the local farming industry particularly as fortnightly opening is not appropriate for the local pork industry?"

"In making the case for the £12,000 fines against Deputy Shona Pitman and Deputy Southern the prosecuting Crown Advocate stated that "no-one is above the law"; given equality of application of the law, would the Attorney General clarify for the Assembly why an independent candidate whose alleged offence was initially to be charged against Deputy Southern was not also prosecuted and in the Royal Court?"

  1. Deputy A.E. Jeune of St. Brelade will ask the followingquestionof the Minister for Transport and TechnicalServices

" G i v en the current economic climate, and the need to support our livestock farmers to produce as much meat as possible for the local market, would the Minister undertake to take steps to ensure that the abattoir resumes a weekly service for killings now to assist pig farmers who have been increasing their herds and, if necessary, will he seek funding for this service from the Economic Stimulus funding?"

"W  o u ld the Attorney General inform the Assembly what legal obstacles, such as the need for

legislation governing the employment of children, must be overcome before Jersey can seek the extension of the UK's ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to the Island?"

This Order amends the Customs and Excise (Import and Export Control) (Jersey) Order 2006. It updates a reference  to  military  and  certain  other  goods,  now  listed  in  the  Export  Control  Order 2008  of  the  United Kingdom. A licence (either general or individual) is required to export those goods from Jersey, whether to other British Islands or elsewhere.

The Order was made on 22nd May 2009 and came into force forthwith. R&O.49/2009.

This Order permits the Classic and Vintage Motor Racing Club of Jersey to hold races and an entertainment from 5th to 7th June 2009 on roads in St. Helier, including parts of Victoria Avenue, Westmount Road, Mount Bingham and La Route de St. Aubin, and to close those roads to traffic.

The Order was made on 22nd May 2009 and came into force forthwith.
